Minimum Education Requirements:

Grade 12, Recognised Blasting Certificate, COMSOC 1 & 2 or Samtrac, Recognised qualification in Quality / Risks Management / Control
Additional Education Requirements: Recognised Assessor qualification will be advantageous, Mine Overseer Certificate will be advantageous, NADSAM or similar qualifications will be advantageous
Years of Experience: 2-4 years

 

Skills Required:
Relevant computer skills (MS Office & SAP)
Working knowledge of information management systems and processes
Good report writing skills
Auditing and investigating skills
Analytical with attention to detail
Knowledge of base line risks assessments and risk management
Working knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations and quality standards.
Basic knowledge in Strata Control
Knowledge of ICAM and auditing systems

Ability to schedule and prioritise work
Ability to deal with multiple tasks and assignments
Project management skills

Position Summary:
The SHE ADVISOR is accountable for the inspection of working
places, assist in incident investigations and monitors the SHE / risk management programmes within the capital projects and perform duties as required by regulations or as otherwise directed to promote a culture of quality and zero harm.
At least 3 years experience as a SHE Practitioner or Shift
Supervisor within a production mining environment, preferably within capital expansion projects

Job Requirements:
Implementation of SHE management systems, standards and associated programmes.
Risk identification and mitigation on programme activities.
Conduct daily inspections and audits.
Monitor compliance to SHE standards and regulations.
Conduct thorough incident investigations.
Establish actions plans to eliminate second incident occurrences or near misses.
Compile daily, weekly and monthly SHE reports.
Record all incidents and near misses.
Maintain SHE database.
Preparation and presentation of risk and quality improvement initiatives.
Prepare and communicate SHE and awareness guidelines and topics.
Monitor the application and compliance to SHE standards.
Engage with project personnel related to SHE topics and focus areas.
Ensure alignment to all SHE standards and requirements.
Stoppage of all unsafe / sub-standard working conditions and actions.
Continuous communication of SHE standards and regulations.
Engage with relevant stakeholders regarding inspections and audits results and findings.
Communicate SHE management topics and focus areas.
Engage into SHE related conversations to stimulate and environment of continuous support to zero harm and quality.
Ensure that all project personnel are trained and coached on SHE standards and regulations.
Participate in the development of training material and guidelines related to SHE management.
Compile comprehensive training and coaching session schedules.
Conduct training and coaching sessions with relevant stakeholders to improve knowledge and capacity related to SHE management.
Receival of nominations for training and participate in the identification of candidates for training and coaching.
