Objectives
• Monitor and report on the implementation of SHEQ policies and procedures and the compliance to the regulatory and statutory requirements to ensure the safety and security of employees, machinery and equipment in the plant

 

Outputs
• Monitor and report on the implementation of SHEQ policies and procedures within the allocated area to ensure that all work is being carried out in a safe and secure manner
• Conduct physical and systems audits in the allocated area in order to identify any risks and non-compliance and compile reports with recommendations to ensure that the workplace is kept safe for work to be carried out
• Manage, audit, control and coordinate the permit to work programs/systems in order to ensure that all employees in the relevant section are legally allowed to perform work and regulatory and statutory requirements are met
• Participate/ facilitate incident and accident investigation processes ensuring that all the necessary information is gathered and documented enabling mitigating actions to be formulated and monitored
• Facilitate/deliver plant safety induction training to new employees or visitors to ensure that they are aware of the present hazards and the safety processes and procedures that are in place within the area of operation
• Perform all the necessary actions to follow up and close all SHEQ audit findings and incidences to ensure that there is no repeat of the same incidences within the area of operation
• Update, track and monitor statistics/trends of incidences that have been recorded in the incident management system to identify ways and means of preventing these from reoccurring in future
• Conduct research and analysis in order to advise PetroSA on new developments, regulatory and statutory requirements that need to be implemented to ensure that PetroSA remains compliant to the relevant legislations
• Assist and facilitate in the conducting of Hazard Analysis and Operability studies and Process Hazard Analysis within the allocated area to ensure the identification and management of safety risks
• Contain expenditure within the budget guidelines to ensure that funds are optimally utilised in service delivery
• Assist customers including safety representatives with any SHEQ related requests or queries to ensure that concerns are resolved and quality customer service is provided
• Manage the development and implementation of a personal learning and growth plan to ensure continued development

 

Qualifications
• Grade 12
• NQF 4 qualification in SHEQ related courses
• SAMTRAC or Nebosh International General Certificate is a prerequisite
• National Diploma in a SHEQ related qualification will be an added advantage

 

Experience
• 3 years practical experience in a chemical related safety environment
Other
• TASK Grade PC11
