Position Summary
To provide civil engineering project and maintenance service to Sasol Business Units in Sasolburg.
Required outputs: Functional
Operational, Financial and Technical Results:
• Management of departmental SHERQ performance (including service providers within portfolio)
• Management of costs and maintenance plans
• Execute capex and opex projects as per parameters
• Development of formal technical and safety standards
Leadership and Growth Results:
• Optimal skills transfer and people development
• Development of civil service model ensuring sustainability through value add
• Formulation of strategies to support infrastructure requirements
• Further development of sandblasting, scaffolding, insulation and painting services (SSIP)
• Establish civil forum within Sasolburg district
Customer and Relationship Results:
• Establish and maintain effective communication systems (SBU’s and Service Providers)
• Manage site civil communication with service providers
Management Results:
• Formulate systems and procedures for civil operating model
• Management of roadway and SSIP service contracts
• Focus on quality control and quantity surveying in relevant contract stream
General
• Sound technical knowledge
• Must be able to negotiate and attain alignment in service environment
• The incumbent must be able to work independently and in a team
• Knowledge of project management
• Computer literate
• Personnel management including growth and development
• Financial management skills
• New business development
Job Requirements
Qualifications and expertise required
• B Degree in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 7, 420 credits) (must)
• Business Qualification (wish)
• Good knowledge of SANS codes for Civil Engineering and Building (must)
• 8 years technical experience in the civil field
