Level of Experience:       3-5 years

Position Summary

To assist with all company secretarial duties, including compliance with Companies Act and Sasol and international corporate governance best practice, as well as board meeting administration

Required outputs: Functional

  • -Compliance with all companies, securities and trust legal requirements;
  • -Advising on corporate governance and companies, securities and trust law;
  • -Advising on the drafting of board resolutions, articles of association and memoranda of association and input into shareholders’ agreements;
  • -Board meeting administration, including preparation of board papers and minutes of meetings;
  • -Ensuring that the main decision-making bodies of Sasol meet and function in accordance with internal and legal requirements;
  • -Provision of accurate, timely and consistent company secretarial information and services.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and expertise required

-LLB Degree

-Preferably admitted attorney or admitted to the bar after pupilage

-Post graduate qualifications in company and/ or tax law will be an advantage

Specific experience required

-At least 3 years experience in a company secretarial services department of a listed company or in the Corporate Finance department of sponsoring brokers.


-In depth knowledge of Company Law

-In depth experience of Company Secretarial practices

-Experience of tax law

-Experience in Corporate Governance and compliance matters

-Computer literate in Microsoft Office, with an advanced knowledge of MS Word

-Ability to work under sustained pressure and within time constraints
