Purpose of the job:
1. To actively manage the outsourcing relationship which delivers the global Sasol IT Infrastructure, including networks, data centres, storage, servers, printers and personal computers to every device globally, ensuring the necessary availability and capacity to enable all IT services used in the execution of business processes on an on-going basis.

2. Manage infrastructure to ensure sufficient capacity and availability to meet the business demand.

3. Balance the capacity of the service to meet business demand, whilst limiting unused capacity.

4. Take full responsibility of the service from an architectural, end-user, supplier, financial and asset management point of view, globally.

5. The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the general health of the services including:
– Implementation and adherence to security, infrastructure and application standards for the service;
– Service availability, reliability and performance; and
– Continuous service improvement.

Specific experience required:
– IT Management Experience
– Infrastructure / Applications Management Experience
– Ability to deal with people – Emotional Intelligence
– Extensive knowledge of specialist IT services
– Basic financial and business knowledge
Job Requirements
The incumbent required to:
– Oversee the delivery of infrastructure services globally across the Sasol group;
– Produce a high degree of customisation for energy business with a rapidly internationalising business;
– Drive and implement improvements and changes in policy and practices with Infrastructure Management;
– Interface with Senior Management (MD / Exco level) in the resolution of specialist IT infrastructure matters and reporting on overall ICT service improvement initiatives;
– Operate with a global context in mind to ensure the infrastructure services meet the needs of Sasol Group; and
– Operate in a multi-sourcing environment and oversee the delivery of all contracted infrastructure services.

This role is also responsible and accountable for:
– All capital expenditure on infrastructure growth and improvement;
– All operational expenditure on contracts and software and hardware maintenance;
– The monitoring, management, feedback and improvement of Infrastructure Management within their portfolio across the Sasol group;
– Service delivery within the approved budget and ensuring continuity and contingency plans are in place and future capacity is taken into account
– Equipment and software lifecycle management; and
– Management of a team of infrastructure owners.

Qualifications
– Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent
– ITIL 3 Foundation
– ITIL 3 Service Manager (preferred)

Required outputs: Functional
– Effective management of Service Infrastructure for Sasol Group
– Service Strategy are developed and Infrastructure maintenance plans are in place and executed
– Service reporting conducted regularly
– Up-to-date equipment deployed in the environment, with budgets and recoveries in place for all equipment
– Equipment lifecycle plans are defined for all equipment
– Effective Service Continuity, Capacity and Budget Plans are in place
– Service delivery adheres to budget and Sasol control processes and is in line with global trends and best practice
– Delivery of service globally against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
