Primary Objectives
Manage and coordinate multidiscipline engineering activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
Manage and coordinate infrastructure development planning activities to ensure efficient planning interventions for client development requirements.
Act as primary technical coordination interface with client to ensure that the client’s expectations are matched to technical requirements, design, engineering and construction deliverables throughput.
Ensure the project conforms to the client’s approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements.
Specific Accountabilities
HSE Management
Maintains HSE focus within the team to ensure OHSE requirements included in design and procurement.
Assist in developing, communicating, implementing and regularly review systems, strategies, standards and processes
Client Relationships
Maintains and builds healthy client relationships.
Proactively resolves performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise.
Identifies, documents, communicates and meets the client’s requirements
Commercial Management
Effectively manages assigned budgets within WorleyParsons’ total scope.
Scope Management
Compliance with WorleyParsons project management process (WPMP).
Compliance with requirements of each applicable client services contract – project charter.
Effective change control process application.
Time Management
Contributes to the development of overall project schedule.
Supervises work in accordance with the approved base-line schedule
Cost Control
Monitors cost aspects of the project within direct control to forecast final costs, identifies trends and takes action to avoid cost overruns.
Quality Management
Contributes to compliance with WorleyParsons policies and procedures.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of WorleyParsons engineering and procurement systems and procedures.
Team Management
Focuses team on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.
Supervises project team members, including external specialists and contractors
Coordinates, listens to the team, discusses the issues, resolves problems and directs activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.
Communications Management
Regularly provides clear reports to stakeholders.
Effective communication with the design team and third parties.
Accurate, timely and effective reporting to the project sponsor.
Risk Management
Monitors the mitigation of all identified risks and opportunities.
Design Management
Sets clear objectives to the design team, including achieving productivity and budget targets.
Ensures design team aware of, and complies with, applicable regulations and codes.
Manages inter-discipline interfaces effectively.
Procurement/Subcontracts Management
Assesses procurement processes throughout the project to ensure goods meet specification, are delivered on time and are within budget.
Essential Skills/Experience
Understands how the business delivers value to shareholders, what drives profitability and growth
3 to 5 years project engineering experience on smaller projects with associated commercial and contractual experience
Proven experience in leading a discipline design group and manage others in changing project environments
Demonstrate people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills. Must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team.
Excellent customer focus and able to consistently meet WorleyParsons and its clients’ needs
Matching Indicators
Relevant bachelors/ technology degree or equivalent qualification and/ or with a minimum of 4 years relevant industry experience in Civil structures, Asset Management, Bulk Services design or Master Planning.
Eligible for certification as Qualified Project Practitioner (Pr CPM or PMP) or Engineering Practitioner or equivalent
