Qualifications
•B Degree / B Tech Degree
•CCNA or equivalent
•MCSE
•UNIX certification
•ITIL certification
Experience
•8-10 years Networking
•8-10 years Multiple communications technologies
•8-10 years Vendor and contract management
•8-10 years SLA management
•8-10 years Line management
•8-10 years Budgeting and forecasting
Desirable:
•4 years Retail experience
Knowledge

Job Objectives
(1)To create a Network strategy and roadmap:
-Create and maintain a network strategy and a 3 year roadmap
-Create a network architecture that supports the strategy and roadmap
(2)To manage all resources within the IT Network management layer:
-Lead a team of specialists responsible for the Network and Communications landscape
(3)To manage the design and implementation of network solutions:
-Design, test and implement network solutions
-Establish a close relationship with Business users and Solution owners in order to design and implement cost effective solutions
(4)To ensure the quality of all communications infrastructure:
-Approve and sign off LAN (including WiFi), Voice, Video and WAN designs as produced by the Network team as well as the Solution providers
-Work closely with Business users and Solution owners to manage the ongoing impact of user activity and systems on the communications infrastructure
-Investigate alternate communications technologies
(5)To effectively communicate to management on a regular basis:
-Hold regular meetings with IT management and Business users
-Feed back to IT management through formal reporting
-Escalate to IT management as needed
(6)To manage all Network assets:
-Takes responsibility for network assets which includes keeping the CMDB up to date
(7)To manage the Network budget:
-Management from a budget and forecast perspective
-Track actual costs against budget
-Responsible for cost benefit analysis of new technologies
-Justify expenditure via a business case
(8)To manage SLAs with vendors on a day-to-day basis:
-Negotiate, draw up and maintain contracts and service level agreements
-Responsible for the vendor management (manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the relationships) of RSA and non-RSA service providers
-Attendance at cyclical Executive forums
-Familiarity with and understanding of network partners’ roadmaps
(9)To ensure compliance with all Change Management processes and procedures:
-Final approval of changes
-Monitor effect of changes
-Attend change management forums where applicable
