REQUIREMENTS : Matric Certificate or National Certificate (Vocational), A relevant Bachelor’s
Degree in Social Work, Registration with the South African Council for Social
Services Profession as Social Worker. Minimum of 8 years appropriate
experience in Social Work after Registration as Social Worker with the SACSSP.
Knowledge & Skills: National Victim Empowerment Policy, All relevant public
service prescripts; KZN Provincial Growth and Development Strategy; Millennium
Development goals; White Paper on Social Welfare Services; Social Service
Professions Act 110 of 1978 as amended; Draft Policy on Social Service
Professions; Framework for Social Welfare Services; Professional Compliance
Framework for Social Welfare Services; Careers Fair Strategy; Integrated Social
Development Strategy; Recruitment and Retention Strategy for Social Welfare
Services; Generic Business Processes for Social Welfare; Supervision
Framework in Social Welfare Services; Human Rights in the delivery of Social
Welfare Services; The Constitution of Republic of South Africa; Non-Profit
Organisations Act; Policy on Financial Awards 2005; Promotion of Equality and
Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act (PEPUDA); Promotion of Access to
Information Act No 2 of 2000 (PAIA) and Promotion of Administrative Justice Act
of 2000 (PAJA), Project Management, Networking, Communication (written and
verbal), Professional Counseling, Presentation, Monitoring and Evaluation.

 

DUTIES : Develop/review policy guidelines in respect of Victim Empowerment; Manage the
Victim Empowerment Forums; Conduct/ co-ordinate training and capacity
building on policy, strategy procedures and guideline regarding the Victim
Empowerment programme; Monitor and evaluate Victim Empowerment
Organization through Development Quality Assurance, Case Audits and On-Site
visits to monitor compliance to Policies; Co-ordinate National and International
Celebrations promote and co-ordinate the strategy and programme through intersectoral
networking and collaboration; Engage in continuous professional
development.
