SALARY : R 295 635 per annum (plus benefits)

REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minimum of 7 years appropriate
experience in social work after registration as Social Worker with the South
African Council for Social Services Professions. Knowledge and understanding of
legislative, policy, procedures and processes related to youth in conflict with the
law. Knowledge and understanding of Departmental Social Work Strategy,
procedures and policies. Knowledge and understanding of Social dynamics,
human behaviour and social systems. Knowledge of Social Work empowerment
interventions. Ability to intervene and resolve conflict of a complex nature. Proven
communication, problem solving, planning, organising, project management,
networking, report writing as well as interpersonal skills.

DUTIES : Supervise and guide the design of diversion programme. Monitor the
implementation of diversion programme in line with legislative requirements.
Supervise the implementation of perpetrator programme. Guide and supervise
the design of life skills programmes. Supervise and monitor the implementation of
life skills programmes. Guide and supervise home based and family preservation
programme. Supervise and monitor the rollout of home based and family
preservation programme. Assist in the review of family preservation programmes.
Manage and conclude on staff performance agreements, assessments, training
developments, leave plans, grievances and disciplinary matters.
