Job description
Two years fixed-term contract with benefits.

Ensure that accurate accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP;
Prepare relevant and accurate monthly financial reports;
Prepare and process monthly income and expense reimbursements together with adjustment journals;
Oversee the functioning of the Accpac system;
Ensure that creditors reconciliations are being accurately and timeously prepared;
Ensure that funds in the respective bank accounts have not been misappropriated and that all transactions have been accurately recorded in the cash books and reconciled regularly;
Ensure that all debtors are accurately recorded and are recoverable;
Ensure that the balance sheet accounts in the general ledger agree to the respective subsidiary ledgers and are correctly accounted for;
Review all Regional Programme balance sheet reconciliations;
Review and approve all petty cash reconciliations, including the conduct of petty cash counts;
Assist with the supervision, mentoring, performance appraisals and skills transfer of the finance team;
Prepare SARS statutory payments in SARS e-filing (PAYE, UIF and VAT) and any other report that may be required;
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure that it balances.

Requirements
An Accounting Degree or similar qualification.
Five to ten years relevant experience of which at least the last two years should have been in a similar position.
Extensive Accpac knowledge and experience.
Good supervisory skills and experience.
Attention to detail.
Good communication skills, written and verbal.
Good work ethic.
Planning, prioritising and organising skills.
Able to work under pressure.
Honesty and integrity.
Self motivated.
Innovative behaviour in problem solving.
Good interpersonal skills.

Special Requirements:
The position will require after hour and sometimes week end work demands.

Advantageous
VIP and payroll experience would be an advantage.
