Introduction…
To oversee and manage compliance with all legislations (such as PFMA, etc), codes and Standards applicable to SAA and its subsidiaries.

Minimum Requirements…

B Degree in Commerce / Legal degree or related at NQF Level 7

Relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.

At least 7 to 10 years experience in a governance or similar role within a large organisation;

Experience in an airline/ transport environment would be advantageous.

Job Specification…

Develop and implement Strategy (policy, framework, process and procedures) related to compliance
Provide overall leadership and strategic direction on compliance issues
Manage, provide inputs and formulate responses to relevant draft legislation which is likely to have an impact on SAA Group.
Develop and implement the legislation compliance checklist and related tools for the SAA group
Undertake regular compliance audits within the SAA group
Manage the group’s audit process by External Auditors for purposes of financial year end reporting
Manage the process to regularly review and update on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Board and Executive Authority
Ensure overall compliance by business units with the agreed terms of the MoU on significant and material transactions
Liaison with relevant stakeholders, National Treasury, SOEs, etc
Research and provide opinions and briefings on specific matters relating to compliance
Develop training and/or reference manuals for relevant business units and ensure regular updating thereof to assist employees in complying with all legislations. Codes and Standards and best practice related thereto
Provide specialist advisory role on the Compliance related matters to the senior management, executive management and the board
Liaise with the Shareholder and other policy ministries and departments on policy and legislative developments in government having an impact on SAA group
Prepare reports for EXCO and other relevant governance Committees
Assess PFMA implications on proposed projects / transactions / policies
Responses to audit queries (internal & external)
