To conduct laboratory operations within a commercial environment, according to QMS and Accreditation.
Conduct food safety audit:
• Takes samples in premises where food is manufactured, processed, served, or sold to ensure compliance with standard
• Use expert knowledge of Food Hygiene
• Responsible for routine inspection of food premises
• Investigate complaints such as illegal cases of food poisoning, customer complaints etc
• Grow customer base
• Assist customers with understanding food products testing specifications
• Create quotations for services requests
• Conduct food safety and food microbiology training
Participate in maintaining the quality management system and accreditation (where applicable):
• Conduct all activities assigned to maintain the Quality Management System and Accreditation
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to relevant safety principles
• Maintain all aspects of the laboratory’s quality system in accordance with the Quality Manual and the laboratory’s accreditation to the relevant ISO standard e.g. ISO 17025
• Ensure responsible housekeeping with in the work area or as directed by the line manager
Deliver excellent customer service:
• Provide excellent customer service by meeting and exceeding the client requirements as per their requests
• Handle queries and resolve problems within sphere of control
• Resolve customer issues within the desired time frame
• Follow up on customer queries, complaints etc where necessary
• Delivery beyond the client expectations
• Provide reports on turnaround time of service delivery to customers
Optimise own performance within the team:
• Participate as a productive team member

• Ensuring that one is able to seek guidance and mentorship from more experienced team members where necessary

Ensure that all administration and reporting is kept up to date (Within scope of control):
• Submission of weekly, monthly reports, time sheets and any other related documentation – Submission of all reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) etc within scope of control on time.
• B Degree/Diploma in Microbiology
• Computer Literate (MS Office, Internet etc
• 3 years’ experience in Microbiological environment
• Microbiology Testing and auditing Methods
• Knowledge and understanding of good laboratory practices
• Familiar with the Quality System requirements of ISO 17025- Laboratory Accreditation.
• SANAS Quality requirements for accreditation
