Additional Requirements:
Relevant three-year Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Operations Management or Project Management or any equivalent qualification with Project Management as a major subject. A minimum of 3 years experience within project management environment, and one of which should preferably have been spent in the public sector. Relevant post graduate degree particularly in project management will serve as an added advantage. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a security clearance.
Skill and competencies:

Relevant three year Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management /Operations Management or Project Management. A minimum of two years practical project management experience. Any relevant post graduate degree particularly in project management will serve as an added advantage. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a security clearance and demonstrate basic practical knowledge of project management.
Skills and Competencies:
Good communication skills, presentation, business writing, facilitation skills, computer literacy, administrative skills, and team-working.
Core Functions:
Compile appropriate project reports. Register projects and programmes onto the project management system. Facilitate projects learning networks. Monitor progress of all projects against set timeframes. Coordinates meetings and workshops. Collect and consolidate all relevant management information. Perform all relevant administrative duties, and Register project management system users.

Additional Requirements:
Relevant three-year Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/ Operations Management. A minimum of 3 years experience working with the application of the enterprise risk management process, one of which should have been spent at Risk Management supervisory level. Studying towards a relevant Advanced Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma or Programme in Enterprise Risk Management will serve as an added advantage. Knowledge and use of an Enterprise Risk Management System will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a security clearance.
Skills and Competencies
Managerial and leadership skills; analytical skills; report writing skills; the ability to work as individuals and in a team environment; ability to work on and manage multiple risk assessment projects simultaneously; ability to work under pressure for extended periods of time; and knowledge and understanding of the strategic management approach within the public service and programme and project management.
Core Functions:
Interpret and apply the enterprise risk management requirements espoused in the
Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Public Sector Risk
Management Framework and King III of Corporate Governance. Facilitate the understanding and application of the Enterprise Risk Management Strategy at all levels. Perform risk assessments in support of the providing of reasonable assurance of the achieving of strategic and/or operational objectives and priorities any business unit, including national, provincial and local levels. Coordinate and direct the compiling of Risk Assessment Reports detailing the approach to and the
Methology applied during the identification and assessment of risk by a business unit. Coordinate and direct the compiling of Risk Monitoring Reports consolidating
Management’s response to the mitigation of prioritised residual risks. Advise management on the development and application of appropriate internal control
Mechanisms to promote the mitigation of risk or the maximising of opportunity. Assist with the assessment and continuous improving of the application of the enterprise risk management process within the SAPS.

The posts contained in this circular are vacant and are hereby advertised externally for appointment purposes as contemplated in National Instruction 6 of 2005. The posts will also be advertised externally in the City Press on 2014-06-15. The
contents of this circular will be available on the South African Police Service Intranet and will also be circulated to all e-mail users by means of Communications Nodal Point and must be made available to all employees of the South African Police Service.

Applicants must display competency in the post-specific core functions.*Be in possession of a Senior Certificate or at least an applicable SAQA accredited NQF4 qualification. * Applicants must be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English. *Be a South African Citizen. *Must have no criminal record or pending criminal/departmental or civil cases. *Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprints verification. *Be able to render at least ten (10) years
of pensionable service. Must have a valid light motor vehicle driver’s license. Candidates applying for posts on the Police Act must be able to undergo basic police training and the Fire arm Competency Training.
Note: Successful applicants to be appointed in terms of the South African Police Service Act, 1995 (Act no 68 of 1995) and not yet appointed in terms of the South African Police Service Act, 1995 (Act no 68 of 1995) will have to undergo a medical examination and found to be medically fit. They will further have to comply with the prescripts on the SAPS Dress Order, whereby tattoos may not be visible when wearing uniform.
