Job Purpose:
To ensure effective and efficient conducting of Standard VAT audits requiring basic tax auditing and accounting competency
Duties:
Plan and conduct audits requiring basic tax, auditing and accounting competence to ensure compliance with the relevant acts
Produce a written report on audit findings and recommendations
Request relevant documentation information require for the audit
Check registration for applicable tax types
Update taxpayer information on SARS systems
Prepare and present submissions to interest and penalty committee
Prepare, maintain and archive audit records
Finalize objections and appeals
Maintain operational data
Conduct audits within acceptable quality norms required
Complete audits within the agreed throughput time
Answer enquiries related to audits conducted
Identify and escalate significant cases and issues
Meet operational targets
Interact with taxpayers on case related issues
Education & Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma ( NQF7) in Accounting and / Taxation
2 years Auditing experience
Basic tax, audit and accounting skills

Experience
Plan and conduct audits requiring basic tax, auditing and accounting competence
Conducts standard audits independently
Understands the audit process, from end to end, inclusive of risk analysis
Knowledge
Knowledge of financial accounting principles, classifying, measuring and reporting transactions of SARS
Knowledge and understanding of accounting and tax concepts, financial statements, trial balance and financial record keeping process
