Market Related Salary
Permanent senior level position at Standard Bank of South Africa in the Financial (Banking) industry.

  • Manage distressed debt and equity accounts originating out of the Corporate & Investment Banking portfolio (including Real Estate Finance)
  • – Analyse business to identify and understand the problem causing the financial distress
  • – Analyse the bank facilities including a review of the legal facility and security documentation to assess the current security position and where appropriate take additional security
  • Develop and implement solutions for credit recovery on accounts in order to secure debt, stabilise accounts or turnaround where possible
  • Be involved and influence client visits and negotiations to manage credit recovery processes including restructure and or renegotiation of facilities.
  • Attend and influence consortium meetings from a business risk perspective
  • Attend and prepare for meetings with creditors
  • Understand the requirements of the Companies Act with respect to Chapter 6 – Business Rescue; and actively represent CIB in such matters
  • Provide advice to various stakeholders on credit recovery and liquidation / receivership processes
  • Oversee preparation and submission of liquidation claims and manage liquidation process through to recovery
  • Brief attorneys and counsel and oversee conduct of litigation on behalf of the Bank
  • Report to the Watch list and NPL Committees and implement decisions there from, as well as update the relevant schedule/s on a monthly basis
  • Maintain the default data base in terms of the Service Level Agreement with Credit Analytics for Non Performing Loans on individual portfolio
  • Assist in managing and developing junior team members
  • Oversee the drafting of sound legal documentations and scrutinise agreements including but not limited to facility agreements, consortium agreements, security agreements and mortgage charges, in accordance with set risk parameters.
