1. STATE ACCOUNTANT 2 POSTS REF NO: 14/338/CFO 

Division: System and Accounts Control
SALARY : R183 438 – R216 084 per annum. The successful candidate will be required to
sign a performance agreement.
CENTRE : National Office: Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma in Finance or equivalent qualifications; 1
year relevant experience in a financial environment; Knowledge of PFMA and
National Treasury Regulations; Knowledge of BAS. Skills and Competencies:
Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Windows and Excel); Communication skills
(written and verbal); Excellent interpersonal relations skills; Accuracy and
attention to details; Analytical and problem solving skills; Ability to work under
pressure and be self-motivated.

DUTIES : Key Performance Areas: Monitor and report on the reconciliation of suspense/
control accounts; Manage the batch control function for National Office; Manage
and control supplier registration on Safety net and BAS; Control and reconcile
suspense and control accounts for the sub-directorate; Responsible for the
submission of batches as requested by the AG; Manage and support
subordinate efficiently and effectively.

 

2. STATE ACCOUNTANT 3 POSTS REFE NO: 14/336/CFO (12 Months Contract (Appointment)
Division: Internal Control
SALARY : R183 438+37% = R251 310 (in lieu of benefits) per annum. The successful
candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.
CENTRE : National Office: Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS : Appropriate three years Degree/Diploma in Financial Accounting/Financial
Management; 1 year relevant experience in a financial environment; 3 Years
relevant experience in Internal Control/Financial Accounting/Supply Chain
Management; Knowledge of Financial Provincial and/or Administration
procedures and processes; Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act
(PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and other legislation prescripts. Skills and
Competencies: Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Windows and Excel,
BAS,SCM systems and Persal; Good interpersonal relations and Communication
skills(written and verbal); Ability to interpret and apply policies; Accuracy and
attention to details; Analytical skills; Ability to work under pressure and be selfmotivated;
Ability to analyze and solve problems.

DUTIES : Key Performance Areas: Analyze payments, orders and journals made; Prevent
re-occurrence of further noncompliance; Detect, investigate and report possible
fraud, corruption, irregular, unauthorized, fruitless and wasteful expenditure;
Review all Petty Cash at Head Office to ensure compliance to prescripts ; Keep
statistics of work performed and for reporting purposes; Detect internal control
and investigate weakness in identified areas as well as make recommendations.
