STATISTICAL OFFICER REF NO: 111/14/ NC
SALARY : R227 802 – R 268 338 per annum. The successful candidate will be required to
sign a performance agreement.
CENTRE : Regional Office Kimberley

 

REQUIREMENTS : BA or BSc degree or equivalent qualification in Statistics; At least 3 years’
experience in statistical environment; Knowledge of relevant policies, strategies,
sstatistical analysis and reporting; Data Collection, Information processing or
related fields will be an advantage; A valid code B driver’s license will be an
advantage; Skills and Competencies: Computer literacy (MS Office);
Communication skills; Problem solving and trouble shooting ability; Analytical,
accuracy and attention to detail; High level of confidentiality and accountability;
Ability to apply good judgment and decision making skills; Assertiveness and
confidence to interact at all levels; Ability to cope under pressure;

 

DUTIES : Key Performance Areas: Implement relevant policies and guidelines in the
Region; Manage and administer data collection instruments and surveys within
the Region; Establish channels for the collection of data within the Region;
Collate, analyze and interpret statistics and make presentations on the findings
within the Region; Produce 1st line reports, statistical publications, and
newsletters; Develop and maintain database containing various datasets for the
Region; Apply sampling and basic sampling statistical methods and also
estimation and interpretation of resulting within the Region; Train
employees/project members within the Region on utilization of information;
Indirectly oversee the monthly submission of data by court administration
personnel and project members of relevant projects in the Region.
