Stewart Scott International (SSI) was founded in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1922. Registered as Stewart Scott (Pty) Ltd and trading as Stewart Scott International (SSI), the company owes its name to its far-sighted founding fathers – George Stewart, a specialist in water cycle and municipal services projects and Frederick Scott, whose forté was transport and structural design.

An innovator from its early years, SSI was one of the very first independent consulting engineering companies in Southern Africa and later, also one of the first to be established as an empowerment company.

The company’s name changed to SSI, a DHV company, in September 2006 after the DHV Group became the majority shareholder.

A vacancy exists in the Buildings & Structures Sector for a CAD Office Manager to commence duties in the Msunduzi (Pietermaritzburg) office as soon as possible

Main Job Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day activities of drawing office

Allocation of draughting work in the drawing office

Monitor project progress

Management of information flow

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Experience

Matric plus extensive technical engineering design / draughting experience or National Diploma / BTech with a focus on design draughting engineering work (Pr Tech advantageous)

Minimum 8 years experience, with a strong technical understanding of engineering building services and other types of structural engineering

Overall knowledge of CAD essential and knowledge of REVIT desirable: architecture and civil / structural

Experience in quality management, administrative procedures and information management

Outcomes driven approach based on set critical path managing several projects simultaneously

Substantial knowledge of the application of drawings in the actual context of construction
