The Swiss-South African Cooperation Initiative (SSACI) is a public-private partnership in development between the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Swiss companies trading in South Africa. It opens up new pathways to employment for young South Africans through skills training and innovative development projects.They are offering apprenticeship programmes in various trades.

 

Opportunities exist for people who wish to do an accelerated apprenticeship in the following trades:

Electrical,

Boilermaking,

Welding,

Refrigeration and air-conditioning

Fitting and turning

 

All applicants must:

Be South African citizens or legal permanent residents

Be under 26 years of age on date of enrollment

Have a National Senior Certificate with not less than 50% in maths and English, and at least an N4 certificate in subjects relevant to their intended trade, with not less than 50% in maths and 60% in all trade-related subjects or

Have an NCV Level 4 with not less than 50% in maths and 60% in all trade-related subjects.

Be medically fit, as prescribed by the regulations governing the target trade

Be from a disadvantaged background
