This is a sales quota carrying position within an assigned region focused on the Investment Banking (Deal Making) community. Responsibilities include identifying new opportunities to grow Thomson Reuters financial information usage across Sub Saharan Africa and South Africa.

Market Sales Specialist-Johannesburg-SAL00003805

Responsibilities:

Develop, execute and/or assist in presentations based on user workflow and Thomson Reuters
vision for this market segment (includes such as T1.com, Datastream , 3000 Xtra and other relevant propositions).
• Develop and maintain a sales pipeline working towards quarterly sales targets.
• Work closely with wider account management and support teams to close sales opportunities.
Increase knowledge on commercials, content and functionality for the Investment Banking proposition
with the relevant stakeholders.
• Liaise with Thomson Reuters central resources on new developments and feed back regional
requirements to enable further revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level

Required Skills:

Self starter and ability to drive sales process to closure.
• Demonstrate ability to sell market data solutions to the financial community in a competitive
environment.
• 3 – 5 years experience of successful sales for a financial information vendor; or similar experience
within a financial institution.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to negotiate and close deals.
• A good understanding of information technology and applying professional information across a
financial organisation. Proven experience from a data, solutions vendor or financial institution in Investment Banking (Deal Making) community
