The trainee accountant is responsible to the auditor in charge for carrying out the work allocated to them, for keeping auditors in charge informed of progress and of any problems or difficulties with that work and for ensuring that work is documented and concluded in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures. Perform work allocated with integrity & ethics. Develop and maintain sound client relationships, research best practice, identify potential new business, risk management, work according to time and financial budgets, continue to self-develop, actively contribute to accurate report writing. Ensure adherence to the audit plan. Timeously signing off the audit plan. | |

Completing a personal performance review, initiating and administering the audit. Ensuring all audit documentation is accurate and neat, adequately performing audit work as required (review notes where sections were allocated, completed and comment accurately on results). Ensure work is reviewed three days prior to the completion of the project. On the last day of the allocated audit time, issuing a list of outstanding items with required detail which pertains to sections that needs to be followed up by yourself and ensure communication on the matter i.e. bank confirmation letters, debtors confirmations, legal letters, etc. |

The successful candidate should be looking to complete all the requirements to be registered as a Chartered Accountant with the South African Institute for Chartered Accountants (SAICA). * Completion of relevant degree (B.Com); * Studying Hons/CTA/GDA (CA stream) during 2012; * Good attention to detail and interpersonal skills; * Previous vac work experience (within an auditing firm would be advantageous); * Understanding of general principles of business; * Leadership potential; * High energy and drive. |
