Transnet South Africa: Skills Programme 2014

The Transnet Maritime School Excellence was launched in April 2013.

The Maritime School specialises in the training and development of critical Port and Maritime skills for Transnet, with a mandate to deliver skills for the country as a whole.

 

A number of bursaries for training and skills development learning programmes are available in:

Port and Terminal Operations
Marine Services
Applicants must be prepared to undergo pre-entry examinations and medical assessments. Successful candidates will be placed on a Transnet Maritime School of Excellence training programme. The programme is envisaged to start in July 2014 and is approximately 18 months long.

The Training Bursary covers the complete cost of the Transnet Maritime School of Excellence Trainígn. At the end of training, trainees may have opportunities for placement into Operating Divisions of Transnet in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Eastern Cape or the Western Cape. Employment in Transnet is in no way guaranteed. All successful recipients of the Training Bursaries, will be trained in areas of competence, for which there is a clear market demand.

 

REQUIREMENTS

South African citizenship
Grade 12 (matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science Will be an advantage
Valid driver’s licence
