Job Description
The Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for all demand generation activities with South African and West Eastern Central African Premier, Enterprise, OEM and Alliance Partners. The role of the Channel Marketing Manager is to increase VMware awareness and lead generation through marketing programs with VMware Premier and Enterprise Partners and OEM and Alliance partners. The Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for working one-on-one with these partners to create marketing plans and implement on-going demand generation programs.
The Channel Marketing Manager acts as the primary marketing focal point between VMware and the partner and ensures that both VMware and the partner are taking full advantage of all marketing opportunities and are utilizing their VMware marketing funds correctly. This role includes working with partners to develop joint marketing plans, assisting with business planning, developing internal and external communications, joint collateral, joint marketing programs, supporting PR activities, lead generation programs, lead maturation programs and joint events. The Channel Marketing Manager will work closely with VMware PanEMEA, local Field Marketing and the local channel team to leverage Premier and Enterprise Partners and OEM and Alliances wherever possible into the VMware marketing mix.
Responsibilities:
Create customized lead generation campaigns with Premier and Enterprise Partners and OEM and Alliance partners (e.g., e-mail, direct mail, seminars, advertising)
Develop joint marketing plans with partners, and assist VMware Channel Sales Manager and local channel team in the business planning process
Work with the partner to utilize their VMware marketing funds appropriately and develop strong marketing metrics
Develop partner communications, joint collateral, and manage joint events
Build stronger relationships with Premier and Enterprise Partners and OEM and Alliance partners through marketing programs and activities
Leverage and work with VMware PanEMEA for the benefit of partners
Liaise with Field Marketing to ensure synergy between channel marketing activities and field marketing activities
Promote the activities of the Premier and Enterprise Partners and OEM and Alliance partners back into VMware
Requirements:
Must have a solid understanding of channel marketing programs, events and promotions
Must have worked with VARs and or System Integrators previously
Extensive experience in developing lead generation campaigns (e.g., direct mail, e-mail, seminars, advertising, telemarketing)
Must possess excellent project management and communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Customer focused and a partner advocate
High energy, enthusiasm and initiative
Must have knowledge and / experience of Emerging regions and channel marketing strategies associated with that
Willingness to travel into WECA and other International travel as well as domestic travel
Experience/Education Required/Desired:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in a marketing related job in the technology sector (software industry experience preferred)
