Incorporated as a not-for-profit foundation in 1971 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Forum is tied to no political, partisan or national interests.

About the community
The Global Shapers Community, once fully created, will enable Gen Y (youth 20-30 years of age) to be a voice for the future in local, regional and global thought processes and a catalyst of entrepreneurship in the global public interest. To achieve its mission, the Global Shapers Community is built on a network of local hubs located in each major city/region in the world and interacts and collaborates with the other members and communities of the World Economic Forum, including leaders from business, politics, academia, civil society, science, media, etc.

You will facilitate the creation of local communities of shapers within major cities in the Americas region. This includes understanding the existing landscape of youth networks and communities, creating the environment for the formation of local shaper communities and playing a supportive role with the inaugural leaders for these communities. You will nurture inaugural hubs to maximize their chances of success and growth into valuable contributors.

You will be integrated in the Global Shapers team and be given the chance to bring in your own ideas. You will also participate in conferences and community events and travel abroad depending on the needs.
Person requirements We are looking for a dynamic team member to support us in fulfilling the team’s mission to create and sustain vibrant communities of shapers. Therefore, we expect you to have excellent knowledge of regional and global business, politics and culture and like the shapers a unique spark that sets you apart from the mainstream.

You possess a broad intellectual background with a university degree. You have one to three years of professional experience, preferably in an international environment. You are fluent in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese. Any experience in mobilizing support for volunteer or not-for-profit initiatives or organizations is an advantage. Knowledge of, and intensive engagement with, various forms of social media are an advantage.
