General Manager of Online News Division: e.Sat (Johannesburg Newsroom)
eNews is looking for a senior figure in the digital landscape to help pioneer eNews’ new online strategy. The company is looking for an entrepreneurial and driven head to help establish, and then manage, a new online department for the broader company. This is a senior position, reporting to the Group Head of News.

The individual will be the head of the online division for the eNews online division and will form a key part of the company’s senior management team and general online strategy. The person will be responsible for setting the department up and then managing it. This is a commercial position – an understanding of media revenue streams and online advertising would be critical.

The duties of the GM:
Form strategies to grow market share in both users and revenue for the online division
Be the face and champion of the online division internally and externally to the industry.
Manage online staff.
Oversee the development of the online business ahead of launch.
Ensure the online division innovates and keeps abreast of the latest online trends
Identify and manage relationships with content suppliers and other stakeholders
Create and form strategic alliances with other players in the industry.
Work closely with the television news division of the company.
Seek synergies between online and television.

The skillset of the GM includes:
10 years management experience in a DIGITAL environment, preferably online media.
Ability to budget and forecast
Understanding of the online editorial and online sales environment
Knowledge of social media trends
Knowledge of the online agencies
Strategic approach to business

Diploma/Degree required, a post graduate Business Management qualification would be an advantage.

SENIOR CERTIFIED DBA AND SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR: IT Department (Johannesburg)

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager your key performance areas will include but not limited to:
Systems Operator for Broadcast Master (Training will be provided), including:
User security and access control
Application troubleshooting
Server and Citrix troubleshooting and maintenance
Database backups and general maintenance
Liaison with Harris Corporation w.r.t. issues logged, or enhancements requested
Facilitate inter-departmental workflows using BCM workflow models and existing core departmental functions
Providing basic training on Broadcast Master system (Sales Master)
Design and maintenance of all reports based on the BCM databases
Design and maintenance of ad-hoc reports requested from the Finance, Programming or any other key departments using the BCM system
Provide assistance with regard to any matter/problem relating to the BCM system

Windows Networking Support
Windows Server Support and maintenance
Active Directory Maintenance
Manage and maintain a Windows Network Environment
Enable user access to network resources: email and internet, account, workgroup, print managers, resetting passwords, creating profiles
Monitor and act on Help Desk queries

Requirements:
At least 5 years in managing Microsoft deployed systems
At least 5 years in managing and maintaining Database Architectures
Experience in broadcasting/tv industry would be preferred
Computer literacy (general working knowledge of computer systems)
MS Server skills
SQL Server skills
Good working knowledge of Citrix
Good working knowledge of Crystal reports including Crystal reports Server
Ability to compile reports on all SQL DB’s using Crystal Reports to manipulate data and provide relative information
Experience in application support
Attention to detail
Good communication skills
Approachable, and be able to work with other people
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Logging and escalating calls when needed to with appropriate vendors, then following up
Ability to investigate, recommend enhancements that will optimize service delivery
Confidentiality with regard to the information being processed and stored

Note: 
The successful candidate will on occasion be required to work irregular hours
The successful candidate will be required to work for a period of 1 year in the Cape Town offices before moving to the JHB offices.

Windows Server Installation, configuration, support and maintenance
Newsroom Systems Administration (Dalet / VIZ) (training will be provided)

Final cut Pro support and maintenance (training will be provided)
Desktop Support
Security: Includes changes to access, assigning access as per company’s policy, reporting etc.
PABX support (training will be provided)
Symantec Antivirus Maintenance
Security patch installation and maintenance
Application Maintenance
Asset Management
Ensure network uptime
Maintain company backups
Enable user access to network resources: email and internet, account, workgroup, print managers, resetting passwords, creating profiles
Monitor and act on Help Desk queries
Log and escalate calls when needed to with appropriate vendors, then following up
Investigate, recommend enhancements that will optimize service delivery
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed and stored

Requirements:
At least 2 years working with Microsoft deployed systems
Knowledge of Microsoft products (OS + Applications)
Knowledge of Apple Mac
Knowledge of networking infrastructures
Experience in application support
Friendly, dedicated and a team player
Attention to detail
Communication skills (speak clearly, understandable writing, well spoken)
Approachable, and be able to work well with others
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Note: 
The successful candidates will be required to work irregular hours including overtime and shift work.
These are fixed term contracts.

CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT ASSISTANT: Marketing, Communications & CSI Department (Johannesburg)
Reporting to the Reporting to the CSI Manager your key performance areas will include:
Liaise, co-ordinate and perform organizational duties in support of the CSI manager
Provide and maintain access to information and documents
Render administrative and secretarial support to the manager as and when required
Prepare reports and minutes of meetings
Manage logistical arrangements related to the activities of the manager
Manage the incoming and outgoing information of the office
Perform administrative duties pertaining to CSI affairs
Provide a professional reception service to internal and external guests and clients
Assist in the planning, execution and administration of corporate-wide programs and communications involving clients, major suppliers, executives, senior management and employees
Work under deadlines for materials going to clients, suppliers and executives with limited supervisory support available

Requirements:
A recognized tertiary qualification in Administration or Secretarial
2-3 years’ relevant experience in office administration/secretarial duties
CSI knowledge and experience would be beneficial
Proven marketing and communications acumen

Ability to:
Adapt to changing demands and practices
Develop alternatives in order to facilitate programs and processes accordingly
Solve problems on your own in order to meet the time and quality requirements

Knowledge of:
Corporate Social Investment projects
Procedures for receiving, responding to and managing requests/enquiries
Administrative and clerical procedures
Systems such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Managing files and records
Designing forms
Office procedures and terminology
