Job mission
To do advanced level repairs to handsets in the MTN repair facility (HVRC) in accordance with the manufacturer specifications and minimum bounce rate.

KPA duties

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

KPA QUALITY STANDARDS

KPA 1: Advanced level Fault Finding and Repair

1.Perform research and development type repairs on new models to ascertain repair capability for L1/2 and L3. Set up of troubleshooting guides and internal service bulletins.

2.Work in accordance with Technical and Manufacturer Policies, Procedures and Processes

3.Resolve operational issues on the line and/or escalate to superior

-85% to manufacturer specifications
-100% in accordance with PPPs
-all ops issues resolved or relayed to superior a s a p once noticed

KPA QUALITY STANDARDS

KPA 2: Coaching and training

1. Provide feedback to Technicians on their 2nd Returns and QA failures and implement corrective actions (Batch checking of repairs)
2. Provide hands-on training to level 1 + 2 Technicians on the line
3. Introduce Technicians to new software for handsets
4. Download and make available service bulletins for HVRC and regional centres
– Daily feedback
– Identify lack of knowledge/skill

– No recurrence of unsuccessful repairs
– Technicians able to use software
– All bulletins made available to Technicians
KPA 3: Software operation

1. Download latest software for HVRC and regional centres.

2. Make available to Technicians for operational use
– All appropriate software downloaded within 12 hours after becoming available

– All Technicians informed

KPA 4: Stock takes

1. Assist with monthly stock takes

 
– 100% to PPPs

KPA 5: Reporting and Administration

1.Identify fault trends on a model and report to the supervisor. Put fixes place to minimize customer downtime.
2.Perform QC on incoming 2nd returns to check identify whether failures are technician related or manufacturing defects
3.Report on any deficiencies on the line with regards to tooling and equipment.

-All trends reported immediately
-Real faults identified
-In line with repair PPP
-All problems escalated to Supervisor

Educational requirements

Education:
Matric or N3 (Minimum)
Minimum of N6 in digital Electronics or related Qualifications (Preferred)

Experience required

Experience:
•3 Years Low Level Cellular Repair experience
•2 Years experience/exposure in High Level Cellular repair and Fault Finding Techniques
•1 or more manufacturer repair training Certificate.
Skills required

Knowledge:
Telecommunication
