Three positions exist within the Analytics Division:
Trainee Analytics Specialist: Credit Risk
Trainee Analytics Specialist: Marketing Analytics
Trainee Analytics Specialist: Merchandise Analytics
 1. Trainee Analytics Specialist: Credit Risk
The Credit Analytics Team develops scorecards and predictive models to inform and improve decisions in the credit life cycle.  This includes models and strategies that focus on credit growth and bad debt management / collections

Your key responsibilities will be:

Work closely with an experienced Analytics Specialist in the development of creditapplication scorecards to assess new applicants for credit, as well as behaviour scorecards to improve decisions in the credit life cycle
Tracking of scorecard and model performance, including recommendations for redevelopment / calibration
Extraction and preparation of data for internal and outsourced projects
Assist in the development of analytical strategies applied in credit life cycle management, with a strong focus on mathematical optimisation
Ensuring appropriate statistical methodology and data mining techniques are applied to modelling process to deliver and deploy robust and effective models
Effective communication and presentation of analytical results to different stakeholders
Documentation of analytical processes and results, adhering to agreed documentation standards
2. Trainee Analytics Specialist: Marketing Analytics
The Marketing Analytics Team provides analytical solutions that improves multi-channel campaign management across the customer life cycle.

Your key responsibilities will be:
Assist in the development and deployment of a suite of response, propensity and segmentation models to improve customer targeting capability for acquisition, cross-selling, retention and customer management initiatives across all retail brands, insurance products and publications / magazine offering.
Assist with mathematical optimisation strategies to ensure customers are targeted with the best offer through the right channel
Tracking of model performance, including recommendations for redevelopment / calibration
Extraction and preparation of data for internal and outsourced projects
Ensuring appropriate statistical methodology and data mining techniques are applied to modelling process to deliver and deploy robust and effective models
Effective communication and presentation of analytical results to different stakeholders
Documentation of analytical processes and results, adhering to agreed documentation standards
3. Trainee Analytics Specialist: Merchandise Analytics
The Merchandise Analytics Team develops analytical strategies and algorithms to improve decisions in the merchandise life cycle. In addition, this team focuses on customer analytics/insights to ensure a customer centric approach to strategy

Your key responsibilities will be:
Assist in the development of algorithms to ensure optimal merchandise allocation to stores, using mathematical optimisation methodologies
Development of store segmentation to inform merchandise / location strategy
Forecasting of future demand, referencing historical sales patterns and clearance rates
Analysing customer behaviour and trends across all TFG trading brands, generating actionable customer insights
Extraction and preparation of data for internal and outsourced projects
Ensuring appropriate statistical / mathematical methodology is applied to analytical process
Effective communication and presentation of analytical results to different stakeholders
Documentation of analytical processes and results, adhering to agreed documentation standards

To take up any of these challenging positions you should have:

A B degree in a numerate discipline, preferably Statistics / Mathematics / Operations Research (Honours / Masters degree preferable)
An analytical, detailed and strategic approach to problem solving
Good conceptual abilities
To be self-motivated, and take responsibility for your own development
Able to work independently as well as within a team
Excellent interpersonal skills
To confidently influence and persuade at all levels
Resilience and emotional maturity
Knowledge of statistical software packages (SAS/SPSS/R) would be advantageous
