Permanent skilled level position in the Financial sector at Absa Graduates & Bursars in Johannesburg, mainly in South Africa (Gauteng).

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To expand the Absa talent pool by equipping and preparing selected graduates for selected roles within business.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet all the Absa Graduate Development Programme (AGDP) and functional business unit training and performance objectives
Contract with Line Management and Human Resources relating to abovementioned performance objectives
Attend and participate in all the required training and development events required by the AGDP
Successfully complete all the tests and examinations required by the AGDP
Submit all the assignments required by the AGDP
Participate in and contribute to the various committees of the AGDP
Prepare and deliver presentations as required by the AGDP
Apply the acquired skills, experience and knowledge in the work environment
Deliver high quality outcomes
Keep abreast of all current news and events pertaining to the Bank and the Financial Industry
Take ownership for own growth, learning and development
Comply with the policies, procedures and other requirements of the Bank
Show commitment to and pride in Absa
Work collaboratively within teams
Build and manage effective relationships and networks with internal and external customers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

B Degree to be obtained before January 2012
An aggregate achievement of at least 60% during the final year of under graduate studies
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
Less than twenty four (24) months permanent full-time work experience (This excludes temporary work during fulltime studies)
Applicants must be citizens of South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Nigeria or Botswana
No criminal record

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

A Degree related to business or the Financial Services Industry
An Honours or Masters Degree or higher qualification
A valid Drivers Licence

GENERAL

Appointments will be made in line with the Absa Employment Equity strategy
Foreign Nationals with valid Special Skills permits to work in Africa may also apply
