PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To manage trainee advisers within AIFA Advisers’ Academy including key business drivers such as: Sales, compliance, the supervisory process as well as operational aspects of the trainee adviser’s work environment. Ensure that sales morale is maintained

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

?Manage the implementation of the prescribed development path of the trainee adviser
?Conduct joint calls as well as pre- and post call discussions with trainee Advisers to provide coaching and feedback on how to engage with clients
?Provide ongoing coaching for the Advisers on the AIFA sales and compliance systems and policies
?Coach the trainees on how to improve their technique using the call record as a basis for evaluation
?Implement a first meeting routine that will promote confidence for the trainee and understanding of the Adviser’s role in relation to the client
?Monitor and manage market share of each trainee adviser based on Management Information (MI) reports
?Coach trainee advisers to promote a productive sales environment and provide guidance in resolving the issues
?Open and maintain a supervision file for each Adviser to monitor and record progress
?Report on any trends picked up with regard to development needs
?Collate trainee adviser reports regarding production figures for final submission to Manager: Adviser Academy
?Report on underachievement and corrective measures that were taken with regard to production targets
?Monitor and ensure that all Compliance exams are completed on time
?Support the achievement of AIFA business goals
?Contribute to the development of business unit strategy
?Provide clear direction to team members on the AIFA strategic plan and key focus areas
?Manage and drive the turnaround time in terms of targets
?Analyse effectiveness of processes and systems in use in the region and make recommendations for enhancements
?Identify and manage the creation of new business opportunities for the academy
?Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:
oworkforce and recruitment demand planning
orecruitment
otalent management and succession planning
omentoring and coaching
omanagement of discipline and grievances
operformance development
oreward and recognition management
otraining and development
?Review and update the department?s organisation structure and role profiles regularly
?Ensure that Code of Good Practice (CoGP) targets are met for the team.
?Ensure satisfactory service delivery and equal distribution of workloads in the teams
?Manage cost within approved budget
?Ensure compliance to Absa policies, legislation and regulations and that all staff compliance training and attestations are in place
?Represent the Adviser at the FAIS Panel in cases where the complaint was handed over to the Dispute Resolution department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

?A Wealth Management qualification at NQF Level 5
?60 FAIS credits at NQF level 5
?Five (5) years experience as a Financial Adviser in the life insurance industry with a proven track record
?Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
?Own reliable transport
?No criminal record

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

?Certified Financial Planner at NQF level 5
?Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status

GENERAL

The appointment will be made in line with the Divisional Employment Equity strategy
It will be necessary to travel regularly and on short notice in the fulfilment of the role
