The purpose of the role is to render project management services to meet identified customer business needs within the Adapt IT Telecoms division. This will mean utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of scope, cost, timescales, and quality.
Job Title: Mid-level Project Manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
Define and meet project objectives within the allocated time, budgeted cost, and at the proper performance or specification level.
Ensure project compliance documents are approved and all other project related documents are compiled, stored, and maintained throughout the project life cycle.
Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained, tracking all activities against the plan providing regular and accurate reports to senior management, and client/user management as appropriate.
Ensure compliance of statutory regulations and governance relating to corporate and project office policies, POPIA, and processes and procedures
Ensure projects are closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and lessons learned are captured and action Project Status Reporting
Manage Project Budgets
Compile and submit project projections to senior management within agreed timeframes and manage variances timeously.
Provide Earned value reporting and responses to earned value output.
Define and manage Project schedules.
Define and manage Project quality plans, reports and metrics.
Identify and manage Project risk and issue management.
Monitor and control of the project to ensure aligned with scope, quality, cost and schedule.
Third party management and/or ensure third party contracts are aligned to delivery.
Project resource management
Provide your team with direction and vision by motivating individuals to perform.
Governance and communication establishment and maintenance throughout project lifecycle
Programme management (may be a requirement)
Portfolio Management (may be a requirement)
Input and maintain all SciForma and JIRA data and information.
Support the sales function within Adapt IT e.g., provide input to proposals around estimates, solution and plans.
Support the account management functions within Adapt IT
Support the Managed Services functions within Adapt IT
Actively live out the Adapt IT values and where applicable assist others in doing so
Ensure support monthly/quarterly reports are submitted timeously for signature and slide deck is updated for Quarterly Review
Administration including document, JIRA, Sciforma and SharePoint management.
Assist with Development prioritization, planning and scheduling.
Assist to define and drive policies affecting the PMO when required.
Assist the Adapt IT Professional Services Delivery Manager with the completion of KPI and IDP documents for the developer Team.
Liaise with Business, Development and Technical Support to ensure that Products are developed, tested & launched.
Managing and resolving all escalations that are raised.
Manage scope, time, cost, and profit of projects.
Demonstrate Leadership in the project environment and within the delivery team.
Client/Stakeholder management, communication, and relationship management/building
Mentor, develop, inspire, and identify opportunities for improvement and encourage teamwork by providing good leadership to project teams.
Lead and directs multiple projects, programmes and/or portfolios.
Ensure project quality in all stages in the software development lifecycle.
Prepare project, quality, and risk plans.
Assign work to project teams and monitor outcomes to manage the project successfully.
Demonstrate awareness and understanding of POPIA in all areas of project management.
Ability to work within a multi discipline team and being a strong team player.
Ability to advise repetitive delays factually and suggest improvement programs.
Ability to lead solution crafting if required.
Ability to transfer knowledge and lessons learnt into project teams.
Ability to coordinate and lead implementations with the customer if required.
Ability to work with selected tools including SciForma and JIRA.
Ability to interact & communicate with customers from different countries, cultures & languages.
Manage project financials:
Ensure Invoice Milestones are set up monthly on JIRA and are updated accordingly.
Ensure that JIRA and Sciforma are aligned.
Attend the Monthly Forecast meeting between the PMO and Operations teams.
Ensure that monthly DAC’s are signed, GRN numbers are received and assist with Invoicing.
Ensure the tracking of all time logged and that timesheets are up to date for your resources.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Education & Qualification:
A qualification in project management would be advantageous.
Must have 4 – 7 years of implementing mid to large technology projects
Experience in understanding integration of complex systems.
Solid Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience.
Knowledge and application of PMI Code of Conduct.
Direct work experience in project management capacity.
Proven experience in people management.
Proven experience in quality management.
Proven experience in risk management.
Proven experience in change/transition management.
Experience or knowledge of program management is advantageous.
Proven experience in managing 3rd parties.
Broad project management methodology knowledge.
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
An over-riding commitment to the project’s success, user satisfaction and teamwork.
Experience in any of the following will be advantageous.
A background in software development experience would be advantageous.
Experience in implementing Telecoms applications would be advantageous.
Experience in project management software e.g., SciForma, JIRA, MS Project etc.
