REQUIREMENTS : Grade 10/12 Certificate or equivalent qualification. 4 years experience in Public
Service. Basic Computer literacy, good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Mental Health Care Act and Criminal Procedure Act. In line with
Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 Hazardous Biological Agents
Regulations, sub-regulation 8(2) a, b, c, it is stipulated that: In order to comply
with the provisions of sub regulation (I), the employer shall after extensive
counseling and education offer the employee the opportunity to have- An initial
health evaluation, which should be carried out by an occupational health
practitioner immediately before or within 14 days after a person commences
employment, where any exposure exists or might exist, which comprises: An
evaluation of the employee’s medical and occupational history A physical
examination Any biological tests and other appropriate medical tests or any other
essential examination that in the opinion of the occupational health practitioner is
desirable in order to enable the practitioner to do a proper evaluation. Periodic
medical examinations and tests in cases where a HBA is known to be capable of
causing persistent or latent infections which: In the light of present knowledge,
are undiagnosable, until signs or symptoms develop. It can have particularly long
incubation periods. It can result in an illness which is recurrent in spite of
treatment Are known to have serious long-term effects. All tests and
examinations as contemplated in paragraphs (a) and (b) shall be conducted
according to a written medical protocol.

 

DUTIES : Daily registration and admission of patients on PAAB system. Daily filing of
patients records in the wards. Facilitate movement of files, MHCA forms between
wards and registry and also updating of nominal list weekly. Gather, capture and
compile any wards related data that is required by both internal and external
stakeholders. Transferring of patients to different health institutions through
Patient Registry Section. Ordering items used in the wards. Ensuring discharge
documents are forwarded to Registry as soon as discharged. Be able to rotate to
other wards and offices when the need arises. Typing of official related
documents and carry additional instruction from the supervisor or delegated
official.
