The goal of Africa Check’s work is to raise the quality of information available to society across the continent. Job Title: Data Administrator
Opportunity type: Employment

Job Summary:
The Data Administrator is responsible for collecting and recording data and managing the Africa Check data dashboard. The position, which reports to the Impact Manager, requires an understanding of and interest in misinformation and strong data management and analysis skills.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring that all data are accurately recorded in the Africa Check dashboard. This includes reviewing any data captured by other staff members and ensuring that the data are current.
Coordinating and liaising with team members to collate and organise data
Supporting the impact manager to extract relevant data as required
Assisting in the wider work of impact research to assess the impact of Africa Check’s multi-dimensional approach to combating misinformation
Assisting to produce case studies about the impact of misinformation
Supporting the impact manager to produce timely and accurate reports to fulfil our donor reporting requirements
Tracking and analysing the circulation of false and misleading claims using our claim matching tool

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in social sciences
Minimum of 2 years’ research experience, with strong data analysis skills, preferably in a policy environment with experience in impact research being an advantage
Enthusiasm and understanding of the media and the practice of fact-checking in particular
Curiosity and an interest in learning about a wide range of topics
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to take initiative and responsibility for your work, and to solve problems
Ability to work with a diverse team across the continent
