African Rainbow Minerals Recruits Electrician

Nkomati Mine, a joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals and Norilsk Nickel Africa is an Open Pit and Underground Base Metal and Chrome operation.

The Mine is currently exploiting a disseminated nickel, copper and platinum group metal deposit associated with a satellite intrusion of the Bushveld Igneous Complex.

 

Minimum Requirements…

THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL:

§ Grade 12/Standard 10

§ National Certificate Engineering Studies N2

§ Section 13 Electrical Trade Certificate NQF 3 § Computer Literacy

§ 4 to 5 Years Electrical Experience § Certificate of Fitness

§ Valid driver’s license THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS OR OPTIONAL:

§ National Diploma Engineering Studies

 

Job Specification…

ALTHOUGH NOT LIMITED TO, THE INCUMBENT WILL REPORT TO THE SUPERVISOR AND THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

§ Perform daily/weekly/monthly/annual maintenance on electrical apparatus.

§ Ensure availability of material and equipment.§ Implement new electrical connections as and when required.

§ Wire new electrical panels.

§ Identify possible defects or problems proactively and suggest corrective action.

§ Repair minor defects on site.

§ Report major defects and temporarily repair equipment, schedule for major repair at workshop, or take to workshop immediately.

§ Maintain internal relations to ensure departmental needs are met and employees are satisfied.

§ Provide relevant and specialized technical support to applicable stakeholders.

§ Enhance safety awareness throughout working area.

§ Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition.

§ Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures.

§ PPE is worn during shift and safety rules and regulations adhered to.

§ Ensure compliance to PPE requirements when working on HT installations.

§ Declaration of safe working place.§ Oversee housekeeping principles are adhered to.
