Agisanang Domestic Abuse Prevention and Training (ADAPT) is a section 21 nonprofit organisation that started operating as a small entity in 1994 focusing on providing counselling and support for abused women. Although the initial emphasis was on women, the beneficiaries of services have expanded to include children, young people, the elderly and men.

 

Job Title: Male Facilitator for the Gender Based Violence Project
Location: Alexandra Township, North East of Johannesburg

The purpose of this position is to mainly focus on structuring training modules and specified workshops for the Gender Based Violence Project.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Mobilize the community for dialogues
  • Mobilize men for training
  • Training men on the Sonke Change Trial Module
  • Form Men’s’ Clubs in the community
  • Facilitate meetings for the clubs formed

Requirements: 

  • Matric Certificate
  • Facilitation skills
  • Report Writing and interpersonal skills
  • Administrative skills
  • Communication skills
  • More than 5 years experience in the NGO sector
  • Knowledge in gender-based violence and related legislation
  • South African Citizen
