To plan, manage and co-ordinate (control) Airline’s CAMO function, work program (including when on call) and resources to ensure consistent achievement of internal and external customer CAMO requirements, maintaining a commercial focus. The role optimises utilisation of resources to ensure the optimal availability of aircraft through cost effective maintenance in accordance with legal requirements, operational conditions and manufacturers specifications and standards through effective maintenance programming, planning, and materials management and the accurate maintenance of technical records. In addition, ensure that aircraft are maintained at the highest levels of Safety, Security and Reliability.

Job Summary:
Prepare strategic and business plans for the function in conjunction with the Head of Department’s for EXCO approval

Initiate and lead programs to create a sustainable world class Aircraft maintenance planning, safety and quality culture.

Develop overall aircraft specialised systems maintenance plans to improve operations

Approve and ensure accurate documentation on aircraft specialised systems maintenance

Establish project implementation flow and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Resolve issues arising from engineering projects

Liaises with Maintenance, Technical Procurement & Purchasing Managers on the establishment of inventory levels for aircraft spares, components, lubricants, tools and equipment which will be required for scheduled maintenance

Prepares budgets for the cost-effective maintenance and servicing of company aircraft in accordance with statutory requirements and manufacturers standards and specifications.

Develops, and ensures implementation in consultation with Quality Assurance comprehensive documentation process to maximise efficiency of maintenance and service activities.

Develops and up-dates maintenance programmes for aircraft, engines, propellers and other components to maximise useful life and efficiency.

Prepares technical reports and statistics periodically.

Ensures that all technical publications, drawings, manuals and the MPD are amended to reflect the latest manufacturers and airworthiness requirements.

Ensures that the assessing and implementation of airworthiness documents, service bulletins and analysis of reliability are being performed timeously.

Recommends resource requirements for the section to the Head of Department and deploys allocated resources efficiently, taking into account identified needs and priorities

Review project audits completed by internal and external auditors

Develop systems to monitor adherence to safety and/or security standards

Provides Business Change Support to implementation of initiatives and change projects to ensure successful delivery.

Manage and reports on the organization’s risk management and/or control process.

Ensures that the department complies with all the Botswana and International regulations as stipulated in the CAAB CARS and technical standards as stipulated in CAAB CATS

Formulates Scorecards, Monitors and report on business plan Performance

Requirements:
Minimum Education Required:

A recognized Degree in Aircraft Maintenance, Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.

Should be a holder or have held an Aircraft Maintenance License(s) from a recognized Civil Aviation Authority covering airframe and power plant or avionics.

Minimum Experience Required:

A minimum of eight (8) years post graduate experience of which four (4) years should be as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer with experience on the type of aircraft operated by Air Botswana.

Specialized training in quality assurance procedures would be an added advantage.
