The ICT Coordinator is responsible for ensuring technology enables and enhances the organisation’s strategic objectives and facilitates all users achieving their operational priorities. This will include supporting and developing systems and staff, and maintaining and developing all internal, hosted and virtualised IT infrastructures alongside the organisation’s outsourced IT support partners. The ICT Coordinator will be key in coordinating and providing IT support directly, and through an internal network of IT champions located across the business.

Job Summary:
The role coordinates the management, maintenance and support for Corporate and Line of Business Applications, including software upgrades, releases, enhancements, documentation, testing and monitoring.

Effective Management of 3rd Party ICT Service providers

To ensure maximum efficiency and clarity are provided through use of all existing and new ICT systems.

To develop clear implementation plans which test proposed systems and manage associated risks; manage implementation, including management of consultants and suppliers.

To ensure investments in the ICT System and proposed innovation is matched to specific financial strategies and timelines with operational programmes.

Maintain best practise for computer network security and fully aware of the security deterrents and measures that can be introduced to reduce network security risks

Blacklist lost, misplaced and stolen ICT Equipment and records to prevent loss of critical data, intellectual property and exposure to risks (fraud etc.).

Ensures all required entries are logged and permanent records kept accurate and preserved in accordance with company and requirements.

Implement and refine all ICT related strategies.

Provide direction and assistance to Airline’s Management Team on the introduction of new processes, acquisition of new systems and development of infrastructure

To manage the relationship with external IT support and application partners.

To support, train and develop IT champions to install and configure software, trouble shoot simple IT problems and support and develop colleagues

Oversight of the ICT budget, JIT Procurement and equipment schedule with the HOD.

Observe and comply with all applicable policies and procedures to Records Management, Airline’s ICT and electronic resources.

Direct maintenance of ICT server infrastructure.

Direct maintenance of ICT network infrastructure.

Ensure effective utilisation of Airline’s corporate records management and data storage systems.

Ensure the strict implementation and roll-out of the approved ICT minimum standards for hardware and software across the Airline and its locations.

Plan, design and execute the internet bandwidth requirements in accordance to stipulated guidelines, number of users and business applications running

Execute technical measures of content filtering, to ensure the proper use of the business internet connection and the protection of the Airline’s operations from internet and cyber threats

Ensure all systems, software and hardware operated are officially licensed and has the latest security patches, updates and firmware.

Conduct quarterly stock taking and inventory of the ICT assets across the Airline and maintain up-to-date (3 years) national ICT plan for the entire Airline.

Develop usage policy guidelines for the users to ensure the adherence of the organisation code of conduct and IT security policies.

In cooperation with the HR department, technically administer the email accounts, in strict adherence of the organisation’s code of conduct and user’s privacy

To support and train staff to use information systems, equipment and software accurately and efficiently

Complies with Safety, Security, Quality and Management policies and procedures in all activities undertaken in order to minimise unsafe incidents and accidents

Escalate reports of breaches in safety and/or security standards to relevant authorities

Identifies cost containment measures and projects within the Section

Manages and Reports on the organization’s risk management and/or control process to supervisor

Ensures that the department complies with all the Botswana and International regulations as stipulated in the CAAB CARS and technical standards as stipulated in CAAB CATS

Develop Sectional Scorecards, Monitors and report on Performance and Personal Development Plan(s)

Requirements:
Minimum Education Required:

A recognized Degree in Information and Communication Technology or equivalent.

Post Graduate Certification will be an added advantage.

Minimum Experience Required:

At least six (6) years’ post qualification experience as a of which three (3) should have been in supervision and/or coordination of Information & Communication Technology function or related activities.

Experience in Aviation Industry will be an added advantage.
