Altech offers a number of bursaries to persons who wish to engage in tertiary study with a view to obtaining undergraduate degrees through to postgraduate research. Currently, Altech is not offering bursaries for technikon studies.
Bursaries are awarded in the following fields of study:
Any person with an appropriate qualification is eligible to be considered for a bursary, provided that their academic achievements satisfies the requirements of Altech and ensures admission to an appropriate South African institution.
The bursary scheme is open to students who are entering their second, third and fourth year of studies. This is a talentbased scheme aimed at attracting and retaining exceptional individuals.
The value of the bursary covers registration, tuition, books and residence fees. Bursars who do not stay in an official residence are entitled to the equivalent amount in lieu of the cost of residence applicable to the particular institution. The bursary is awarded for the length of the prescribed Degree, but reviewed on an annual basis, based on academic performance.
The bursar has to remain in the service of Altech for a continuous period on a one-on-one basis i.e. 12 months service for each academic year that the bursar is supported, and the bursar will on an annual basis do minimum six weeks vocational work during his/her period of study in Altech.
