Amandla Development is a nonprofit organisation that works to empower South African youth with equal access to quality education opportunities.   The Community Solutions Programme is Amandla’s programme for improving the quality and accessibility of cradle-to-career supports in the community.

The Community Solutions Coordinator must work closely with network members as a skilled facilitator to develop collaborative projects that remove barriers on the cradle-to-career journey.  Amandla facilitates the Philippi Collective Network, a cross-sector group that fosters a community-driven approach to improving learner wellbeing and education outcomes.  Community Solutions develops collaborative projects in Philippi to increase quality and accessibility of cradle-to-career support services.

 

Job Title: Project Coordinator
Job Location: Cape Town
Start date: 15 July, or sooner

Purpose of the position is to ensure projects are evidence-based and to translate data into useful information for network members, to guide network members through developing logframes and implementation plans for their collaborations.

Responsibilities:

  • ​Facilitate evidence-based project development and implementation
  • Ensure that working group projects are fully developed with logframes and milestones;
  • Liaise regularly with our organisation partners, ensuring their continued connection to the collective mission;
  • Write reports;
  • Data capture;
  • Able to meet deadlines consistently;
  • Coordinate the development of Amandla’s shared measures system within the network; and
  • Manage the project budget for Community Solutions

Requirements:

  • ​Minimum two years in similar role;
  • Strong, proven background in facilitation with both adults and youth;
  • Demonstrated project development experience;
  • Experience working in a township setting;
  • Fluency in isiXhosa a must;
  • A valid driver’s license;
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including basic Excel;
  • Interest in education, health, and social development;
  • Ability and willingness to multitask and manage shifting deadlines;
  • Highly motivated and energetic;
  • Ability to work independently or without direct supervision;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities; and
  • Basic financial management.
