Anglo American Recruits Patrol Person Security Officer

Role Description:

The Patrolperson will responsible for the application of routine security procedures within an Anglo Platinum Operation to ensure that employees and assets are protected and will also include emergency prevention duties.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Follow work instructions
Ensure proper understanding of the required actions
Apply recognized work and security standards
Conduct allocated patrols or checkpoint duties
Fire prevention and fighting as first line response
Patrol on foot by bicycle or vehicle as applicable
Gather information that could support risk management
Respond to alarms and take appropriate action
Enforce access controls
Conduct Alcohol Tests with prescribed equipment as per Substance abuse policy and Site instructions.
Support risk management; conducting AFRS and SHEQ related checks on vehicles entering and exiting Company premises.
Ensure that security tasks are completed to required quality standards
When a security issue is observed take appropriate action within procedures
Effectively use allocated equipment such as radios and telephones
Identify and report all irregularities and incidents to Supervisor
Effective two way communications with team members and visitors
Promote security awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying problems with work practices
Maintains facilities, equipment and personal image up to a high standard of presentation
Support effective teamwork
Participate in required meetings including safety, health, environment initiatives
Accurately complete role administration requirements
Gathers information and report to Supervisor
To arrest all transgressors within the ambits of the law
Attend disciplinary enquiries as a witness/complainant
Effectively conduct tasks as armed member of CIA team.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 certificate.
Registered with the PSIRA (grade c)
First aid Certificate
Communications in English (spoken ,written and reading)
No criminal record and /or other personal limitations that will prevent Fire arm competency certification

Physical Requirements:

Certificate of fitness
