ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: (FINANCE) 3 POSTS REF NO: MPDOH/SEPT/14/25

SALARY : R270 804 per annum [Level 9] plus Benefits

CENTRE : Bethal Hospital; Standerton Hospital; Rob Ferreira Hospital

REQUIREMENTS : A Grade 12 with 8 to 10 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree/ diploma or relevant tertiary qualification in finance or accounting with experience in financial Management. At least five (5) years’ experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Being innovative.

Proactive and decisive under pressure and solution orientated. Management experience, problem solving skills and ability to be a self-starter.Ability to meet strict deadlines.Strong organizational and leadership skills.Developed management skills.Computer literacy. Good communication skills and sound analytical skills knowledge of cost accounting. Thorough knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations and official development assistance.Knowledge of BAS, LOGIS transversal systems.Knowledge of public sector policies and regulations.

 

DUTIES : Ensure compliance with PFMA. Ensure timely payments of all supplier and personnel. Overall responsibility for the management and administration of the finance process. Responsible for ensuring that the following sections in the institution run smoothly, effective and efficient: budgeting, debt management, expenditure, revenue and supply chain management. Approach a holistic approach to financial accounting in the institution by developing, implementing and reviewing the necessary financial legislation, strategies and frameworks. Define and review the objectives on priorities of the directorate. Maintain the standard charts of accounts (SCOA). Submit a business plan, monthly and annual report to the CEO. Manage all creditors’ payments and ensure that creditors’ reconciliations are performed. Provide support to the auditors and management responses to audit queries and implementation of financial policies and procedures. Ensure that internal control is in place. Manage human and other resources within the section ad ensure compliance with performance management and development system. Mentoring and training of staff on alfinancial on supply chain management prescripts. Ensure compliance with regulations. Implement financial procurement systems that comply with the regulations. Capture budget on BAS. Manage reconciliation reports. Manage theft and loss
