Job Title: Enrolled Nurse – Ehlanzeni
Location: Nelspruit / Mbombela, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Job Summary:
Work Description – The purpose of this position is to provide highly experienced and efficient clinical services under the supervision of the Professional Nurse whilst adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.

Technical Work Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, safe and effective evidence based clinical procedures to achieve identified health outcomes
Manage daily activities required for the implementation of the research study
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the South African Nursing Council and the Health Professions Council of South Africa
Enforce the rights of all participants and maintain cultural sensitivity
Plan and evaluate clinical procedures in consultation with the multidisciplinary team
Provide progress reports and recommendations on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of processes

Duties:
Liaise with stakeholders and contribute towards the achievement of Company and Divisional goals.
Effective communication with relevant stakeholders regarding constraints and appropriate resolutions
Perform HCT on participants
Draw blood and other specimen
Perform urine tests
Perform health assessments
Monitor vital signs
Provide counselling to participants as and when required
Provide on-going risk-reduction counselling to participants
Arrange follow up assessments for participants when necessary
Refer participants to health facilities nearby for further assessment and management when required
Manage and administer data collection tools (but not limited to) consent forms, assessment of understanding, risk assessment questionnaires, counselling or interview documentation
Compile and submit study case reports (CRFs) and source documents timeously
Manage the data and filing system as per SOPs
Compile monthly statistical report
Submit recommendations on increasing effectiveness and efficiency in processes to line management
Manage the retention of participants
Obtain, verify and update detailed locator of participants after each participant visit
Contact participants telephonically prior to visits
Manage participants’ medical history
Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Identify own developmental needs and implement approved recommendations
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed legislation
Report all unsafe activities to Senior Management/Human Resources
Adhere to decision making procedures

Requirements:
Education:
Certificate of Enrolled Nursing
Registration with the South African Nursing Council
Good Clinical Practice Certificate
HIV/AIDS Counselling and Management Certificate

Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ working with Key Populations
Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical or public health research
Extensive counselling experience

Advantageous:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in HIV/AIDS and TB related accountabilities

Requirements:
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle
