AVBOB, Africa’s largest Mutual Assurance Society providing a one-stop Funeral Insurance and Burial solution, has a vacancy for a Department Head Client Services at their Bellville branch and will report duly to the Provincial Manager: Western Cape and Administrative Head: Policy Services Administration. The incumbent will be responsible for resolving walk-in clients’ queries by managing the AVBOB Client Service Centre and liaising with the relevant role players towards achievement of set objectives and targets within the department.

Job Summary:
Compile Risk register and Operational reports
Ensure that Compliance and Audit report/s findings are implemented
Handle escalated queries pertaining to Insurance administration departments (Claims, Policy services, Call center, New Business, Premium administration, Refunds) Debtors & Complaints departments.
Prepare and manage budgets for the department.
Manage and Improve the department’s Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Develop a monthly Quality monitoring plan for the department.
Organize weekly Operation meetings with the team.
Monitor systems and report any deviations.
Compile department schedule/roster.
Manage the department’s Operational Business Continuity Plan.
Ensure that policy requests and related transactions are dealt with according to policy and procedure.
Ensure that payments are correctly applied and funds handled according to policy and procedure.
Ensure operational functionality of the client services office.
Manage human resources.
Identify training needs and prepare a training plan for the department.
Coach and develop team.
Monitor and evaluate service rendered by personnel.
Update the department’s Policy and Procedure.

Requirements:
Grade 12.
Relevant qualification will advantageous.
Life Insurance background will be an added advantage.
3-5 Years life assurance experience, preferably in a Policy/Client service environment.
Previous experience in supervising staff.
Must be able to work under pressure.
Must be fluent in both English and other indigenous languages.
Must always be client friendly.
Will be required to work Saturdays.
Planning and Organisational Skills.
Excellent Communication Skills.
Computer Skills (MS Office).
Excellent problem solving skills
Good listening skills
Must be analytical
Detail orientated
