Aviation Jobs: Research and Development Specialist

?Undertake research and development projects that will advance the corporate objectives of ATNS
?Prepare plans, processes, procedures and safety cases for introducing new technologies into the operational environment
?Make presentations to ATNS and third parties on research and development project outcomes
?Research ATM/CNS technology globally
?Attend seminars, conferences, workshops, etc on related matters
?Identify associated risks with technology research projects and establish mitigation options
?Participate in appropriate ICAO regional and international and planning meetings and SADC forums that will advance ATNS’ position
?Provide specialist consultancy services to ATNS and third seminars
?Identify personal training and development needs and requirements
?Coach and mentor staff
?Provide technical leadership and consultation
?Promote the ATNS corporate culture within area of responsibility in support of corporate objectives
?Prepare and submit reports to meetings as required
?Make submissions for approval to appropriate authorizing authority
?Prepare ad hoc reports as required by clients and management
?Attend required Departmental and Company meetings
?Support and ensure compliance with the ATNS Quality Management System
?Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulation, policies and procedures

 
Minimum Qualifications
?Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics or Computer Engineering) granting admission to the Engineering Council of SA to register as a Professional Engineer.

 
Minimum Experience
?At least Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in a high technology electronic environment
?In-depth knowledge and understanding of planning, specifying, acquiring and the implementing radio communication systems and or voice communications systems and or data communications systems and or voice and data switching systems and or radio navigation systems and or primary and secondary surveillance radar sensors and or radar and flight data processing and display systems.
