Purpose of the job:
To supervise Artisans to ensure the necessary maintenance is carried out for maximum availability and safety of machinery in the incumbent’s area of responsibility.

Main Role Outcomes:
•To assist the General Engineering Foreman to plan work requirements and priorities to ensure availability of materials, equipment, to achieve the output.
•The incumbent will also be required to lead the artisans so that they have clear work expectations and plans
•Implement and maintain all applicable safety regulations, acts, codes of practice, standards, discipline and assist with HR and IR issues.
•Standby duty, overtime and work on Sundays/public holidays will be required.
•He/she will report to the General Engineering Foreman and will be appointed by the Manager under Regulation 2.9.2.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

•N3 or Grade 12 qualification
•Relevant trade certificate (MIETTB or Olifantsfontein registration)
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience as qualified Artisan
•Some General Engineering Foreman relieving experience
•Valid certificate of physical fitness
•Ability to read and write in English
•Ability to communicate with people on different levels
•Computer literate (Excel, Word & Email)
•Extensive experience for maintenance of Hydraulic circuits, General Mechanical, Engineering workshop practice (lathes, pedestal drills, welding techniques, etc.), out electric and diesel engines.
•Valid driver’s license
