We have an exciting opportunity at Barron for a SHEQ Manager who will report to the Chief Operations Officer. This position is based at our Head Office in Westlake, Gauteng.

 

 

 

Job Title: SHEQ Manager

Job Summary:
The purpose of the SHEQ Manager is to ensure that the company complies with health, safety and assurance regulations and quality standards by developing and maintaining specific rules and standards. To supervise and coordinate work systems to ensure that the products or services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safe.

Requirements:

•Develop & Maintain SHEQ Management systems
•Determine the strategic direction and continuous business improvement through SHEQ management systems
•Implement new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules and company standards
•Complete prevention inspections on a regular basis and ensure records are kept and maintained
•Develop monthly SHEQ Communication Strategy
•Lead the company in meeting its obligations under the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1999

Quality Assurance & Auditing:

•Coordinate for internal & external audits
•Assist in retaining current quality accreditations and work towards attaining new ones
•Monitor production performance
•Ensure QMS achieves intended results
•Identify & implement approved improvement opportunities

Security, Incident Investigation, reporting and Risk Assessment:

•To manage the incumbent security companies staff which have been allocated to site
•To provide support and expertise in incident investigation and reporting
•To conduct occupational health and safety related surveys
•To produce and coordinate the yearly SHEQ action plan and prepare monthly reports
•Accountable for managing the relationship with the onsite clinic and reporting and managing all injuries on duty; and ensuring compliance with the Workmen’s Compensation Act (WCA)
•Responsible for managing the relevant safety audit and certification processes

Staff Management and Development:

•Manage outputs, performance and development of the team
•Recruit and select new employees through upholding HR policies and Procedures
•Investigate and initiate disciplinary action according to employee misconduct

QUALIFICATIONS:

NQF 7Quality/ Safety/ Environmental Management (Essential)
NQF 8Quality/ Safety/ Environmental Management (Desirable)

KNOWLEDGE:

Quality Control and Assurance
Quality control and Assurance reporting
Quality control Audits
Production Management
Understanding of SHE legislation

EXPERIENCE:

10 years in Quality Assurance Manager in FMCG or Wholesale industry
8-10 years in Quality Systems, Health and Safety ISO 9001, ISO 14000 & SAMTRAC
