 Job Title: Consultant within the Business Services & Advisory – Client Accounting department.

Specification
The BDO Drive Consultant will Processing of data to trial balance level and preparation of annual financial statements. Processing and computing of VAT and providing client with monthly management reports. Provide training and development to intermediate and junior bookkeepers. Have the ability to maintain and manage a full client portfolio and ensure all compliance needs of the clients are met

Timeous submission of monthly VAT returns and management accounts
•Preparation of a set of AFS in compliance with standards
•Supervision of junior accountants
•Feedback on communication with Manager
•Timely communication with client

Annual financial statements and monthly management accounts
•Preparation of annual financial statements and monthly management reports
•Preparing of accurate working papers and reconciliations to support the annual financial statements and monthly management accounts

Reviews
•Review of VAT calculations before submission to Manager

Client retention
•Meeting client expectations in terms of service delivery and keeping clients updates on status

Collaboration
•Being aware of a client’s needs and recommending or introducing another BDO professional or service line
•Explaining various accounting terminology and processes to clients
•Assist clients with accounting procedures and policies
•Liaison between client and managers

Supervision
•Planning, organising and leading work of subordinates
•Supervising subordinates in terms of time, attendance and discipline to ensure resolution at the appropriate level

Requirements
•BCom Accounting
•Completion of SAICA/SAIPA learnership
•3 to 4 years accounting experience
•Caseware experience
•Xero certification

•Verbal/written communication and negotiation skills
•Willingness to learn
•Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry.
