In partnership with the leadership of the Advisory Services Division, the incumbent will be required to:
•Determine the long-term strategic digital objectives of the Advisory Service line.
•Ensure business growth through directing and managing all digital advisory development and delivery activities that align with the
organisational and divisional strategy and key business objectives.
•Lead the digital implementation output of assigned clients, producing market-leading solutions to drive expected client outcomes.
•Direct and manage the overall operational performance of digital solutions services across the regional offices of BDO South Africa and the
sub-service lines in Advisory.
•Break into new digital areas that align with BDO South Africa’s ambition for a new digital revenue stream in line with financial targets.
•Manage the on-going development, enhancement and rotation of Digital Advisory and Digital Implementation Services offerings with a
focus on delivering high quality and high-value services for our clients.
•Construct a high-performing and engaged Digital Advisory Solutions sales and delivery team.
•Understanding digital solution trends in the relevant client sector markets for possible solution enhancement and implementation.

Key responsibilities and competencies:
•Strategy and Sustainability – Understanding key objectives for clients and BDO, setting priorities and direction and aligning people to the
digital objectives.
•Leadership and Succession – Influencing clients, teams, and individuals positively, leading by example and establishing valued relationships
at all levels. Developing high performing individuals and teams for consistent and effective service delivery.
•Marketing and Business Development – Analysing and exploring market trends specific to the firm’s digital services and implement
measures that lead to growth. The Head of Digital Solutions will represent BDO SA in their area of expertise and is responsible for
promoting BDO and its brand. The candidate is required to be (become) a respected and well-known thought leader in digital services
generally and/or specific digital solutions.
•Financial Performance – Managing the growth of the digital business line’s revenue and profitability and assisting Partners and Directors in
the Advisory service lines to achieve their Regional Office and Business Unit financial objectives set out in the business plan and strategy
relating to digital platforms.
•Risk Management – Understanding the risk consequences of digital solutions and assisting with matters that may potentially have risk
management implications for BDO SA, and recommend resolutions.
•Quality Control – Establishing and maintaining quality standards for digital services as well as determining the technical training needs of
the various levels of Partners, Directors and staff in the Service Lines.
•Human Resources – In consultation with People and Culture, implementing effective succession planning, people management,
development, recruitment, and retention strategies for the division. Ensuring the promotion of employment equity and transformation.
•Information Technology – Identifying critical system problems and concerns that may hamper the delivery of quality service to clients.
Liaising with IT to resolve the issues.
•Administration – Attending monthly OPSCO meetings and report back on activities and developments in the Service Line. Ensure smooth
operations for the Digital Advisory business unit.
•Project Management – Project managing the delivery of digital implementation plans end-to-end that meet the briefed campaign objectives,
and meet best in class digital systems standards.
•Key Stakeholder Engagement -Working closely with client leads, translating a brief into a digital plan and drive the successful delivery of the
campaign from start to finish.

Qualifications and Experience :
•A relevant degree in a business or science discipline, Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) will be an advantage.
•Minimum 8-10 years of complex technology sales and delivery experience.
•Minimum 5 years of practical experience with digital sales and delivery.
•Commercial experience in running a business/business unit will be an advantage.
•Sales training and related certificates will be an advantage.
•Relevant industry certifications that reflect core skills to run a digital practice.
•Working enterprise architecture experience focusing on digital transformations.
•Distinguished technology background.
•Recent practical digital project delivery experience.
•Experience in managing end-to-end advisory projects.
•A seasoned thought leader who demonstrates leadership in related digital forums, and industry networks.
•A meaningful contributor to research and trends that affect the digital space, and how this impacts the sales pipeline.

The salary is market-related and commensurate with experience.
