Job Summary:
The incumbent is accountable for the proactive leadership and management of the SA Distribution’s operational capabilities. This includes responsibility for the execution of operational activities across the various work-streams and the development and implementation of an appropriate operations strategy. Ultimately accountable for ensuring continuous improvement in operational efficiency to improve internal cost drivers and customer experience. Responsible for operational stability and efficiency, cost management, industry and market reputation and directly impacts revenue opportunity realization.

Requirements:
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations Management:
Develop, implement and manage the policies, procedures and business processes within Operations, to effectively execute against the organisational strategy.
Develop, manage and report on key operations metrics as required.
Directing the overall daily operations functions, and ensuring an operationally resilient business.
Manage the Customer Interaction Centre to develop a world class service to all customers.
Direct the overall management and provision of operational support services including commercialisation, asset and logistics, etc. in line with business strategy.
Execute the adoption, embedment and standardisation of products and services across business units.
Support and promote timely, desired outcomes for these priorities.
Lead planning and implementation teams for critical, company-wide projects as needed.
Measure the effectiveness of all process internal and external; and provide timely, accurate and complete performance and statistical reports on the operating condition of the operation.
Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Exco as an effective developer of solutions to businesses challenges.
Collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operations infrastructure of systems processes and personnel designed to accommodate meeting the objectives of the organizations.

Business Planning and Performance:
Manage and report on business performance
Hold direct reports accountable for achievement of business plans, and take corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of business objectives.
Balancing the need to deliver short term business objectives with the longer term delivery of stakeholder value.
Participate in new business development initiatives and identify opportunities to support revenue/cost/risk initiatives.
Participate in and lead as appropriate all initiatives to improve and review Blue
Label operations, process or systems environments.
Lead all key operations decision-making processes.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Identify and manage stakeholders up to top management level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.

Leadership:
Providing vision and direction to the team members.
Through effective inspirational leadership, facilitate the creation of accountable, full service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Role model behavior and motivate team members in line with the core values.
Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management.
Provide support and guidance on career path planning, on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring to direct reports.

EDUCATION:
Matric
Post graduate qualification in relevant field

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 10 years experience in leading operations within a Manufacturing, FMCG or Retail environment
Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources
