Our client the Botswana National Olympic Committee are seeking a suitable candidate for a position within the organisation. Based at the BNOC offices in Gaborone, the organisation seeks a dynamic candidate who will add value and drive the strategic and operational effectiveness of the organisation.
Job Title: Senior High-Performance Officer

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Programmes Manager the Senior High-Performance officer is accountable for providing assistance in the administration and delivery of a high-performance programme for Botswana sport.
Key responsibilities include:
•Increase high performance athletes, coaches, sport science and medicine and other support personnel in Botswana through development and implementation of pathways;
•Monitor athletes’ performance and keep data predictive analytics for decision making;
•Monitors elite athlete’s health and/or injuries and ensure timely support is provided;
•Increase opportunities and pathways for athletes to develop through national and international
opportunities, as well as liaise with National and International Federations to assist with and/or access athlete training programmes;
•Secure and/or provide scholarships and professional environments for talented athletes;
•Develop and implement structured programmes to assist with unearthing talented athletes;
•Liaise with high performance centers to facilitate access to identified talented athletes;
•Manage budgets and all expenses related to the delivery and implementation of the BNOC high performance programmes;
•Assists in implementing the BNOC high performance infrastructure development;
•Assists in monitoring the impact of the implementation of BNOC high performance programmes and initiatives as required, ensuring that both national and local performance indicators and targets are attained;
•Participate in selection of athletes to international competitions;
•Researches on international elite coach and athlete development practices and ensures that the BNOC is kept abreast of emerging trends in this space;
•Provides assistance and support to BNOC Members and LOC in problem solving,
•Undertake other such duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
The successful applicants are expected to have as a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, Sport Analytics, Sport Performance or equivalent tertiary qualification. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
At least 5 years relevant post qualification experience, 3 of which should have within a sport (high) performance and/or analysis environment. Extensive knowledge of sport development instruments would be an added advantage.
