Role Synopsis Assist the Lead Finance Assistant Credit in maintaining a clean, properly reconciled debtors book for the Retail, C&I and Transit (FVC) customer accounts

Key accountabilities

1.Establish relationships with business managers to facilitate more effective collection of monies due to BP and reconciliation of accounts.

2.Coordinate with the business, depot and the BSC to ensure all back office activities relating to customers ( invoicing , allocations etc) are done correctly and on time.

3.Develop relationship with customers and be able to assist with collection of over dues.

4.Develop relationships with debt collectors and legal advisors to facilitate collection of problem debts.

5.Liaising with depot staff to facilitate compliance with credit control policy.

6.Ensuring that all data relating to FVC debt is reported reported through the LFAC
.
7.Assist with Ad-hoc request from business and from the Lead Finance Assistant Credit.

8.Work to SOX compliance , and ensure that the Global Credit policy is applied at all times

 

Key Challenges :

1.Following up on delinquent accounts where there is a cashflow impact.

2.Effective communication with staff externally and internally, resolving complex issues, ensuring accuracy and timely collections.

•The role interacts with various customers and stakeholders throughout the business.

•Maintain relationship with BP Sales, bank staff & depot staff.

Essential Education •Matric with basic accounting and reconciliation experience.

•Relevant tertiary qualification eg Diploma in Accounting, Business or Credit Management

Essential experience and job requirements •At least 3 – 5 years relevant experience in a financial environment. Reconciliation & excel knowledge
